MATTHEW McConaughey helped a nursing home find new ways to entertain their quarantined senior citizens by taking on the role of bingo caller.
The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living is a retirement and care home in Texas, and Matthew and his family helped the nurses to host a rousing game of bingo over Zoom.
In video shared by the nursing home on FaceBook, Matthew and his mother Kay take on the role of bingo caller while his wife Camila Alves and their children watch.
‘I 24, we have an I 24!” drawls Matthew, before exclaiming: “We have two winners, look at that board, fourth column straight down, winner!”
“Ever play virtual bingo with #MatthewMcConaughey? You’d be a whole lot cooler if you did! The residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living got to play virtual bingo with #MatthewMcConaughey and his family!” shared the home on Facebook.
“Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo!” they added.
“Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink.”
In a second video, they riffed off a video Matthew made in mid-March and added: “During a time when we are all working to make lemonade out of lemons, we are so humbled that Matthew took the time to play our favorite game with us.
“As Matthew would say, let’s turn this red light into a green light!”
The senior citizens all then held up green paper on which they wrote motivational messages such as “age fearlessly” and “just keep living”.
